REVEAL and SALE BLITZ: Two Sides by M. Robinson and Jettie Woodruff

Two Sides Reveal & Sale
Cover Design: The Final Wrap

*New cover & Title for The Truth About Mack & Shhh…

For the first time ever Best Selling Author Jettie Woodruff and M. Robinson combined The Truth About Mack & Shhh… into one book, Two Sides.

THERE IS ALWAYS TWO SIDES TO EVERY STORY. HERS, MINE, AND…THE TRUTH.

Before you judge me for my part in all of this, for the things that I did, and for a past I may or may not have had control over, ask yourself who you’re really judging. Is it me? Is it Gianna? Mr. Nichols? My parents? Society?
There are always three sides. In this case, it’s mine, Gia’s, and the truth. Once you have read them both, you’re free to judge who you want. You can decide what the secrets are, who lied, and who told the truth.

 McKenzie Perry, AKA Mack.

They say everything happens for a reason.
They say time heals all wounds.
They say...They say...They say...
There are always two sides to every story and then there's the truth. Well Mack got her turn and now it's mine. This is my side. My story to tell. What happened through my eyes. When you're done reading you can make your own conclusions, pick and choose a side or take bits and pieces from each story and make your verdict.
Love me or hate me...
Because at the end of the day.

The truth will set me free.

TWO SIDES: MACK BY JETTIE WOODRUFF

My name is McKenzie Perry. I’ve lived a life filled with secrets. Secrets that took me years to understand. Secrets that my bestie Gia and I kept from the world. Secrets that only I knew. I wasn’t afraid of the lies, the secrets, or the hidden skeletons. That’s not what frightened me. I was afraid that one day they would come out, somebody would find out the truth. If I am the only one that knew the secrets, the lies, then they were safe, right? How does a well-rounded, talented little girl create a false sense life? It took several years for me to understand the impact of lies. Lies I told, secrets I kept, and the lives they controlled. One of the things I know to be true is, I did the things I did for a reason, even if I didn’t know it at the time. They all had a reason.

TWO SIDES : GIANNA BY M. ROBINSON

Have you ever lied? Held secrets? Betrayed someone?
I have.
McKenzie and I were best friends, soul sisters. We shared everything…or so she thought. To everyone I was perfect and happy. No one knew the real me. That was until I saw him. Everything changed the second we laid eyes on each other. The world stopped moving and only we existed in it. But it just added to the secrets and lies, it became too much and I couldn't tell apart what was real and what wasn’t.
This story is for anyone, who has ever lied and lived to regret it…

My name is Jettie Woodruff. I am from Ohio. I don't know what genre I write in. People tell me I have my own genre. I write whatever I feel, because that’s what makes me happy. I don’t want to be in that box where I can only write one genre. I tend to like my bad boy's, taboo; the touchy subjects that make you want to throw your kindle. Usually at said hot alpha male. Sometimes the female lead as well. My motto is life is short. Very short. If it doesn't make you happy anymore then why do it? Move on. Some of my favorite things, besides writing are, friends, family, and the beach. Music, although my interest has changed after forty, I like the new stuff. Happy Reading.

REVIEW: Wicked Lust (The Wicked Horse, Book 2) by Sawyer Bennett

RATING:

Blurb
Cain Bonham is as big and bad as they come. After serving in the Marines, he’s returned home to Wyoming and now works as head of security at the exclusive sex club, The Wicked Horse. His job is to protect not only the patrons, but to zealously guard the secret existence of the club itself.
Sloane Preston is all about discovering secrets. As an undercover reporter, she’s determined to reveal the truth behind the facade of The Wicked Horse and expose it for all the world to see. She just didn’t count on her pathway into the club coming at the hands of one gorgeously scarred and bad ass bouncer who manages to easily possess her body and soul.
While Cain’s not looking for anyone to catch his eye, Sloane did it all the same, and he’s not bemoaning the fact that she’s as wickedly kinky as he is. As both get caught up in the sinful fantasies that only The Wicked Horse can create, secrets and loyalties will be tested and hearts will risk being broken.
**Warning: this book has sex in it. Lots of sex. Dirty sex. The Wicked Horse Series is a bit different than what Sawyer Bennett normally writes. While you’ll still enjoy fabulous characters, a suspenseful story, some witty banter and an epic romance, there’s just… a lot of sex. You’ve been warned.

Review

HOLY SMOKES!!! The disclaimer is no joke, take heed, I tell ya! *grins*

As I started reading this, I wanna say that I was worried. I’m not a big fan of relationships starting out with lies, which was pretty much had to happen here considering Sloane’s purpose. Those were points taken away already for Sloane, especially considering how Cain is. But I should’ve known better. This is Sawyer after all. I’ve loved her Cold Fury series, and 1 from her Legal Affairs series, so I shoulda known to just trust Sawyer’s writing.

Regardless of Sloane’s original intent, there is no denying the heat between these 2. And considering where Cain works and what he’s into… holy suuuwweeet smokin’ times!!! Some of them are even outside my comfort zone but did you think I cared? Of course not! HAH!

Cain owned his lifestyle, and gotta love him for that! He only has Sloane’s welfare in mind from the start. And I understood where he’s coming from, even at the end when things were revealed. I love how disconcerted he was by his inexplicable pull towards Sloane then seeing him reconciling all the warring feelings in his head. Sloane, as mentioned earlier, was on a disadvantage as far as I was concerned. I couldn’t muster enough sympathy at first so it did feel weird in the beginning, but sure enough, I slowly got it. By the end, I was rooting for her, cheering her on to get what she deserves.

So at the end of the day, I got a sizzling read that’s about self-discovery, acceptance and forgiveness.

I see Rand’s story is coming up next. Just like in the 1st book, the epilogue here is to give introduction to the next book in the series so we got a glimpse of what we’re in for with Rand’s story.

Lastly, I know I’m not alone when I ask when is Bridger’s story coming, Sawyer?!?! Just wondering, that’s all…

RATING:

Aww, soooo cute!!!

Seeing this is a Brazen read, it's a quick one, for sure. Quick, hot, cheeky, funny, adorable, and hot (yes, I said hot twice *wink*)!

I haven't read the first 2 books in the series. I signed up for this because, well, it’s Brazen, it’s m/m, and it’s about all things nerdy, so how can I go wrong, right? Right!

Chad and Owen met thru a work party where Chad’s sister and Owen work. There’s an immediate attraction there but they couldn’t be any more opposite. So opposite that in fact, they really didn’t care much for each other’s personality but hey, the d!ck, I mean, the heart wants what the heart wants. It’s insta-lust, but who cares!

Chad is laid-back, where Owen is primmer. Chad is still looking for his place in his world where Owen is already settled. Chad is about fun, where Owen is more about responsibility. The perfect match! Both Chad and Owen are quite humorous in their own way. There’s much sass between them, in a totally endearing way. Their banter is smart and cocky and fun (I'm being redundant, I know). I love how they bring out unexpected things out of each other which catches each of them off-guard. And there’s so much sweetness, but not in a saccharine way, if you get my drift, whether it’s b/w Chad and Owen, or Chad and his sister, or any of the interactions, really. Totes adorbs!

If I have any beef, I wish it were longer. Seriously though, how is this my first Megan read, when I even have some of her books already to boot?! Sigh...

EXCERPT REVEAL: Defenseless by Corinne Michaels

Chapter 1
Mark
“Everyone locked and loaded?” Liam Dempsey draws our attention. There’s a part of me that wants to slap him, but then I remember: I’m the guest. It would probably be frowned upon.
“Ready,” Jackson says and bangs the magazine into the rifle. “What’s the plan?”
“We have the location where Aaron’s being held captive. We’ll split into two teams, surround the building, and get him out. The helo will be on standby for extract. Muffin, Twilight, you guys will handle meeting with the CIA agent.” Liam lets us know how this will go down.
He’s the big cheese of our small team. Commander was fine with allowing Muff and me to go on the rescue. First, we know what the hell we’re doing; I could be the damn commander at this point. Second, if it isn’t Aaron, we have the best chance of knowing quickly. I know it is, though. The code word that the CIA agent communicated was the one we’ve used for years. She relayed his area and the best way possible to enter the compound. Of course, deciphering her instructions was difficult, and it left us to make plans for the plans.
“Let’s get this sh!t done and get back in one piece this time, okay Muff?” There’s no hiding the sarcasm in my voice.
“F*ck off, Dixon.”
“So touchy.” I grin and double-check my gear. As funny as it is, it’s also not funny at all. Jackson Cole was once the leader of our SEAL team when the mission we were tasked with went really wrong. We lost three teammates that day, and all of us suffered injuries both mental and physical. Then we sent Aaron to deal with a lost shipment of weapons and he was killed. Well, possibly not, but still. Each time one of our a$$es touches down in this f*cking place, someone ends up shot or killed. I’d love to be able to forget, but the truth is, I never will. The guys I’ve lost reside in my heart. The memories take hold in all of us, and for some, they torment us. The wondering if we could’ve done something different, remembering their last moments—it’s a heavy burden to carry.
I’ve lost too many friends and too much blood to this hellhole.
“Okay,” Liam says through our earpieces. “Two minutes out.”
Everyone stands, heads toward the back of the plane, and readies for the ride. We’re parachuting in, and there’s a part of me that’s alive for the first time in a while. I live for this sh!t. The command of the sky, the adventure, the danger—I love it. It’s a part of who I am, and while I don’t regret leaving the Navy, I miss the fun. Being a SEAL was everything to me. I was damn good at it, too. While Aaron and Jackson had no problem getting out and starting Cole Security Forces, I would’ve been buried in my uniform. However, my arm had other ideas and made the choice for me.
Jackson slaps my shoulder. “Ready to be bada$$ again?”
“I never lost it. Unlike you other pu$$y whipped a$$holes.”
“At least I get pu$$y, unlike some sh!thead who talks a lot of crap,” he mutters under his breath.
“Keep it up, fat boy. You’re starting to earn your call sign again, Muffin.” I pull my goggles down and watch for the light to turn green. There’s no hesitation as I jump out the hatch. The plane fades away as I plummet to, once again, do what I live for.
We all reach the ground safely a few miles from the IED site where this whole mess started.
Liam gives the hand commands as we split into teams of two. If I ever felt like a piece of sh!t before, it was nothing compared to now. Aaron is possibly still alive and nearby. We didn’t search before, partly because Muff got shot, but I never even considered coming back. They claimed there were no survivors, and we listened.
If it were me, would I be pissed? F*ck yeah, I would. We should’ve looked.
“See that, up on the building?” Dempsey’s voice cuts through the silence.
My eyes dart to where his hand is pointing. I can’t see it clearly, but hanging from the antenna is a red scarf, the go-ahead signal from our contact.
“Charlie better not be f*cking us around,” I grumble. I’ve missed the way my body feels right now. Everything inside me is awakened. My mind knows there’s danger and my muscles are tense so I do my best to relax. I can’t be on edge or someone could get hurt. I remember how it felt to lose our teammates on that mission. I remember carrying Brian, Devon, and Fernando’s bodies out. I remember watching the life fade from their eyes. Then to think of all the other drama we’ve dealt with being in the sandbox—this place gives me anxiety.
“She’s on our side. Head in the game,” Jackson snaps as he creeps forward. He’s in the zone. I need to get there before we kick in the door.
As we approach the entrance, Liam comes through with the green light. “Petunia.” His tone is clear. This time we’re using flowers for code names. I liked it better when we used liquor or tobacco . . . more manly. Shows just how much the Navy is breeding pu$$ies now.
Jackson braces his hand against the door, ready to push through, but someone pulls it open first. All of our guns raise, and my gaze locks on the bluest eyes I’ve ever seen.
The woman’s hands slowly raise, and she casually removes the hijab that covers her mouth and hair. “Check out the garden, boys. Petunia.” Her accent is clearly American. “He’s down the hall and knows you’re coming. There are three on guard by his cell. The others are out doing errands. I’m leaving with you, so don’t f*ck this up.”
I stand there, staring, unable to form a f*cking coherent thought. This is the CIA op? This five-foot-four, drop-dead gorgeous woman? No wonder she gets information. I’d sell my soul if she asked. Her hair is almost black and hangs straight, her eyes are ice blue, and don’t get me started on what I imagine her plump lips doing. I’ve never seen anyone like her. I’ve never reacted to anyone like this before. I want her—any man would—but I want to own her. Every part of my body, especially one in particular, yearns for her. I want to see if her skin is as soft as it looks, if her hair feels like silk, and her voice—I’m done for.
Jackson lowers his gun and then addresses her. “Which door, Charlie?”
“Second on the left. I need a gun.” She puts her hand out.
The need to protect her calls from deep within. “Maybe you should stay out here.”
“And watch you guys get lost? I don’t think so. Gun. Now.” She doesn’t look my way when she replies. She just waits for Jackson to hand her his pistol.
I don’t like this. She may be trained by the CIA, but that’s not saying she can handle combat. “Are you sure you know how to use it, princess?” I ask.
Her eyes meet mine and narrow. Oh, that got her attention. A storm’s raging in those baby blues. She recovers quickly, though, when Jackson places his nine mil in her delicate palm. “Thanks. I’ll let that slide since you obviously aren’t aware of who I am,” she says without taking her eyes off me. “We don’t have a lot of time. Where’s the rest of your team?”
“We are the team,” I reply. Who is this girl? Maybe the CIA needs ten people, but Jackson, Liam, and I could handle this entire thing on our own—the six-guy team we brought is more than enough.
Jackson smirks. “They’re approaching from a different entrance. Let’s go.”
“I’ll lead,” Charlie says and lifts the hijab over her hair.
“We know what we’re doing.” I speak just so she’ll look at me again.
“Wouldn’t want you to get lost or hurt. Don’t worry, I’ll protect you.” Her voice drips with sarcasm. My c*ck hardens. It f*cking hardens on a goddamn mission. I am so f*cked.
She opens the door and I push Muffin out of the way. No way is he going to be behind her. Charlie turns to relay a message, and notices he’s not the one following. Her eyes roll, she holds up two fingers, and then she points to the room. The way her a$$ sways is hypnotic. I lock down the sexual urges flowing through me and focus. The two men trailing me let off two silent shots and then return to following us. We slink through the dirty hallway and come face to face with another guard.
I don’t have a moment to take the sight. Charlie doesn’t hesitate. No more than a breath passes before she raises the nine and shoots him in the head.
I’m in love. It’s official. I’m going to blow my f*cking load right here.
This woman is going to be mine.
She turns her head to face me and lifts her lips. The words that come from her mouth go straight to my groin. “Don’t be afraid to pull the trigger next time, princess.” Charlie’s eyes glimmer, and I know right then that this woman will not be owned, but she sure as sh!t will own me.

Excerpt
“Tell me something,” he said, overtly switching gears. “What’s with you and Chris Blakely?”

He’d been watching me at the Expo, then. Before he’d come outside after me.

His question about Chris was spoken casually, but it was purposeful. A more naïve woman might have missed it, but I was too experienced with men like him. He wanted me to know that I was in his sightline. That this was what it meant to be part of his life. That he would monitor me, if he felt like it; he’d rule me. And he expected me to submit.

I couldn’t decide if that freaked me out or thrilled me.

So I played coy. “He’s an actor. We’ve worked together on occasion. I guess we’re friends.”

I walked into the kitchen and got a glass from the cupboard. Chewing my lip, I filled it with filtered water from the sink and debated full disclosure regarding Chris…It was a long shot, but since I hoped to contact Chris for more information about Missy at some point, I decided the less I said the better.

I drank some of my water then set the glass down and leaned across the counter to watch Reeve. His fingers trailed across the spines. I couldn’t see the exact books, so I tried to think what was there. My Katherine Hepburn autobiography. My copy of Rebecca.

He stopped and pulled one from the shelf then flipped through it lazily. This one I recognized from the cover. PostSecret: Extraordinary Confessions from Ordinary Lives, one of my coffee table books. I collected them and had so many that most lived on my bookshelf rather than on my coffee table. This particular book was a printing of blog posts that shared secrets anonymously. Parts of it read like my diary, and I’d marked several pages with Post-it notes so I could easily come back to them. Reading it had always felt comforting.

Seeing it in Reeve’s hands, though, wasn’t comforting. He flipped through the pages, stopping on the ones I’d tagged. Chuckling at some. Growing somber at others. At one, he lifted his head toward me and nodded slightly as if confirming what he’d just thought, what he’d just read.

I ran through several confessions I knew by heart, trying to imagine which it had been—

“Again and again. Used.”

“I’m more scared of court than I was when he almost killed me.”

“I would do absolutely anything in the whole world if I thought it would make her happy.”

Whichever ones he was reading, any of them—all of them—were private. Too private for him to know spoke to me. Yet, I didn’t stop him. I let him sink one layer deeper under my skin.

It was bad enough that he was in my apartment—in an apartment that I paid for myself. His presence reminded me of a time when everything I owned had been given to me by men. The things I had now, though small in number and worth, were all mine.

Trying to distract myself from the anxiety Reeve’s invasion caused, I asked, “Why do you want to know about Chris anyway? Do you want me to fix you up? He’s got a fiancé, you know.”

Reeve shot me a glare. “Cute.”

He put the book back on my shelf and moved toward me. When he reached the counter, he said, “Chris doesn’t look at you like he has a fiancé.”

Ah. I’d forgotten Reeve was a jealous man. Or I’d underestimated the depth of his envy. Strangely, it was a fairly common trait of the kind of men I’d involved myself with in the past, the kind of men who had everything. I knew how to pander to them, knew what to say to put their insecurities to rest. No one could ever be man enough to compare with you, I’d say. It might have been what Reeve was looking for in regards to Chris.

But I couldn’t bring myself to give it to him. “A lot of men don’t look at me like they have a fiancé.”

Reeve leaned across the opposite side of the counter so we were face-to-face. “I don’t like that.”

Jealousy was generally boring, yet, on Reeve, it was fascinating. And, I suspected, dangerous. “You don’t? What are you going to do about it? Lock me up and never let me out in public?”

“I have some nice secluded resorts I think you’d like. My island properties are so beautiful you’ll forget you’re in a prison.”

He flashed his dimple. It was subtle, only noticeable when he smiled in a certain way, the way he was smiling now. And his eyes…I’d thought they were blue, but now I saw green flecks. They caught in the light. They caught me in them, made me feel warm. Made me feel trapped.

I stood up straight, distancing myself without moving away. “Look at you. Acting as if you have some claim to me. I think I already blew you off the other night.”

“Look at you, acting as if I’m a person that you blow off. I think I already warned you about me.” He was teasing as I’d been. But he wasn’t all at the same time.

My heart skipped a beat. “Another threat?”

“If you want it to be.” He looked at me like he had earlier—that intent way that saw through me, into me. Saw all my dark parts.

In a way, he was showing me his darkness as well.

My lip quivered, but I wasn’t scared. Well, not scared enough. “I do.”

His eyes sparked, and with that simple phrase, we entered into an agreement. He would have me. He would f*ck me. He would bring me into his world.

And in return I’d let him break me.

Review

RATING:

This is my fist Laurelin read and I’m asking myself why that is. I have her series that house Hudson Pierce but somehow never got to it. But at least now I got to meet Reeve Sallis.

Reeve’s name crossed Emily’s periphery all because of a cryptic phone call from a long-lost friend. Regardless, as it turns out, they were what each other needs and so began their song and dance. As they try to figure each other out, Emily has a mission to fulfill, answers to seek out, a mystery to solve.

Really, fascinating is the first word that comes to mind when it comes to these 2, Emily and Reeve. They have such a curious dynamics that I can’t help but be caught up in the beauty of it all. Gah, how do I talk about them without giving anything away??? I just want to say that Laurelin did such a wonderful job making me understand, especially Emily. It was mesmerizing getting into her head, making me comprehend her motivations that propel her needs, accepting her, the way Reeve accepts her, and this is me despite not being able to relate to her. And Reeve is just mysterious with his personality and attitude; yet, you can’t help, or at least I can’t, but just be extremely attracted with the way he sees Emily, the way he takes charge, the way he takes care of her, the way he’s unsettled by Emily… an alpha dude through and through. And considering how the story is unfolding, I was worried at every turn of the page, and turned on, right til the end. Such a weird feeling!

This is the first bk in this duet so don’t expect a nicely wrapped up ending with all your questions answered. It ends on a cliffie, if that’s still not clear. I can’t even imagine where this story will go, nor do I want to hazard a guess. All I know is that the mere thought of the sequence of events is getting me really worried. I’m worried for Emily, worried for Emily and Reeve, worried about how each will react and survive the sense of betrayal that’s slowly unfurling from every angle, yet anticipating just as much the palpable deeper connection developing between these 2, and of course I can't forget the mystery that started this all, who really are the good guys and the bad ones… GAH!!!

I hope Laurelin won’t mind when I say that reading this reminds me, in a way, of Aleatha’s Consequences series and CD’s SOS series, 2 series which I love to pieces, btw. You have 2 very captivating characters with very distinct proclivities and layer that with a storyline full of intrigue, tension and suspense, and what you get is one heck of a ride!

Last Kiss can’t come fast enough…. sigh…

REVIEW: Solid (The Twin Duo, Book 2.5) by Jettie Woodruff

RATING:

Blurb
Gabriella
Sometimes you just have to let go of rock bottom, catch the bricks being thrown at you, and build your own foundation. Solid is built on trust, not lies and deceit, and sometimes you have to stop waiting for someone else to build it, and do it yourself.
Paxton
If happiness is the end result, if it’s that single want that matters, if we had to through that to get here, I’d do it all over again. If it’s the love that matters, then why does it matter how we got there? We were the perfect storm of two kinds of crazy.

Review

"The perfect storm of two kinds of crazy. Baby, I don't give a f*ck how we got here. We're here."

The craziness that is Paxton and Gabriella continues here, them trying to move forward after what they’ve gone thru… sigh…

I still feel the same way about Paxton. One minute, I want to bop him on the head, the next minute, I’m swooning over his thoughts… sigh… And as much I didn’t agree with half of Gabriella’s actions, I find myself more forgiving, considering what she’s gone thru... sigh...

I don’t get these 2, I don’t get them at all… Dysfunctional at the very least, yet just perfect… the lies, the heat, the deceit , the passion… sigh…

Ultimately, they both got what they needed and deserved, and I mean that in the most genuine way. It's a love story that only befits these 2 given their past... sigh...

Thanks for dropping by!
