Aric James Monaghan promised Jillian Knight Portland. With a heavy heart and a light bag, she travels to the West Coast for the man she loved. In a blink her worlds collide, holding her hostage to a past filled with lies, deceit, and revenge.
Four Caskets
Two Bodies
It all started with a boy and a girl—their tragic love story is shared through the eyes of the enemy.
Every word fades dreams and shatters memories as life slips away. Jillian needs a Knight, Jessica needs a miracle, and together they need a savior.

Tugging off her shirt, she smiled. Gone were the compression bras; she didn’t burn them, but they were hauled off with the trash shortly after the infamous refrigerator sex. Lace, satin, and underwire took their place.
“What you’re doing right now feels more intimate than anything you’ve ever done to me with your mouth.”
“We’ll see about that.” He wet his lips, eyeing her white lace bra. Approval glimmered in his eyes.
She removed the rest of her clothes, eager to be in his arms. He took a step back as she moved toward him.
“Stop.”
She froze. Her hands searched for a place to be: hanging idle at her sides, covering her breasts...
“Repeat after me.”
“What?” Her voice squeaked with disbelief.
He grinned as his ego gobbled up her confidence. “I’m beautiful.”
Ryn squinted.
“Say it.”
She sighed. “I’m beautiful.”
“I’m taking back every bit of confidence that bastard took from me.”
It would never happen like that, but someone who hadn’t been in her shoes could never understand. However, she loved the naked man standing before her for saying it.
“I’m taking back every bit of confidence that bastard took from me.”
“I’m worthy of happiness.”
That one hit harder than it should have. She’d never given happiness much thought.
“Say it.”
“I’m … I’m worthy of happiness.”
“I’m going to marry Jackson Knight and love him in spite of his multiple f*cked-up personalities.”
“Jackson—”
“Say it.” His voice carried a rare pain and vulnerability.
“I’m going to marry Jackson Knight…” she stepped closer and rested her hands on his chest “…and I’m going to love Every. Single. One. Of his f*cked-up personalities.”
“I’ve had a sh!t day,” he whispered, brushing his thumb along her cheek. “Until now.”
She nodded slowly, then looked up at him. “I’ve had a sh!t life … until now.”
“Touch me,” he said.
“Where?”
“Everywhere. Make me feel human again.”
Review
RATING:
Jewel = evil woman! There I’ve said it! Playing with my emotions like that, sheesh! BAHAHAHA
This review is gonna sound weird, my emotions are all over the place, I tell ya! And I’m warning you now, if there ever is a highly subjective review, this is one of them, sigh… And without me giving away anything at that?? Sigh…
After a few days of having read it, I know for certain that my nerves got the best of me when I read this. How I felt about Middle of Knight is still so fresh on my mind that to give me the first chapter like that (not the prologue, as the prologue made perfect sense in my mind), Jewel, that was just cruel! No preamble, bam! So as I kept reading, I keep telling myself that Jewel will tell me “gotcha!” at some point, but no. Yah, yah, talk about in denial!!... In my mind, if this is where Jewel wanted to take me, couldn’t there have been a better closure? Sigh…
And because I was in denial for a good early portion, I got somehow preoccupied with it. Then the nerves kicked in because in my mind, if Jewel can do that right in the beginning, what else did she have in store for me?!? Sigh…
So yah, the rest of the story, I was nervous. I was swooning, laughing, getting upset and even mad, back to swooning, all while I was nervous. Then by the last 30%, magnify that feeling tenfold. Sigh… Best and worst feelings ever! Ok maybe not ever, but you know what I mean… Sigh…
Then there are the lingering conflicting feelings I have about certain things. While I love the ending, I’m conflicted about how certain things went down and about how certain characters where dealt with. In my mind, a few things happened. I ended up caring for a character when I didn’t want to. I ended up hating a character too much, not a good feeling. I ended up caring too much for a character when it was probably best for me that I shouldn’t have. Sigh…
I can keep rambling and try to make sense of my back-and-forth emotions. At the end though, after all is said and done, even I can’t deny that this one crazy ride that Jewel took me on; the suspense, the worry, the action, the heart-melting moments… Jillian is one spirited and very strong h. Jackson is one kicka$ dude and I’m completely enamored with him! As well, the men and the woman in their lives are totally deserving of them. Sigh… So I guess what I’m trying to say is while I felt blindsided by this book, I love the depth that Jewel gave to all the characters. I love them all! Ok, with the 1 exception or 2. But yes, I love ALL the main characters! I will miss Jillian. Most of all, I will miss Jackson. Sigh…

When she’s not donning her cape and saving the planet one tree at a time, she enjoys yoga with friends, good food with family, rock climbing with her kids, watching How I Met Your Mother reruns, and of course…heart-wrenching, tear-jerking, panty-scorching novels.
