An unbreakable bond.

Their love was well-known throughout the immortal world.
The powerful Taldeburu Waleron and his Delara.
But tragedy struck and tore them apart for years. One believing the other was dead.

When fate finally brings them back together again it isn’t kind.
It’s cruel and testing. Sacrificial.

Because love has no remorse for its victims.
It doesn’t give you options.
And it won’t be stopped.

This is Waleron and Delara’s story.
It’s not pretty and it’s not kind.
But it's theirs.

A band of fierce warriors walk in the shadows of the human world with capabilities derived from the senses: Trackers, Sounders, Healers, Tasters, Visionaries and the rare Reflectors. They are known as the ‘Scars.

Scars of the Wraiths Series (Must be read in order)
Stygian (Scars of the Wraiths, Book 1)
Tyrant (Scars of the Wraiths, Book 2)
Credo (Scars of the Wraiths, Book 3) Oct/2016
Take (Scars of the Wraiths, Book 4) Standalone

As a fan of the series, I can’t tell you how much I was looking forward to reading Waleron and Delara’s story. Even from the previous books, you can tell they have the most to tell, and indeed they did!

With the kind of history they have, there’s a lot of hurt, a lot of pain and a lot of sacrifice on each end. But when you’re destined to be with that one person the way they are, none of that should and would matter. My heart broke over and over for these 2, and and to see these 2 go through what they went through… sigh…

I’m a lil conflicted about how certain things went down. I didn’t expect for other people to be involved but a love story like theirs that spans practically a century, and full of strife to boot, for reasons beyond their control sometimes, some comfort is deserved… I think…

And not sure how I feel about how little time they spent together on-screen if I may call it that. But I get it. Considering what’s happening, it was necessary. Oh, but when they’re together, the intensity of their chemistry, dear lahwd!

If you’re a fan of the series like I am, you already know Waleron and Delara and what makes them tick as an individual and as a couple. Their story has already been unfolding slowly throughout the series. But here you’ll see how it all began, and what happened in between. Then of course, you get POVs from other characters that build the story further.

At any rate, despite my conflicting feelings about certain things, this remains a 5-star read for me. I’m just so invested in all of them now that I do want to see every single one of them get their HEA, and I mean every single one of them. Oh Nashoda, as always, I look forward to the next one.

RELEASE BLITZ: Wicked Little Words by Stevie J Cole & BT Urruela

"With American Psycho vibes and characters that will haunt you, Wicked Little Words does not disappoint."
- #1 New York Times Bestselling Author, Jennifer L. Armentrout

Nook: coming soon!

Edwin Allen Mercer I want them all to read my words. And they do. Every last blood-stained sentence, they've read and praised me for. They love the gore and violence, the realness. And I get a sense of power with it all because I know a secret: the victims in my books—they’re real and have all died on my table. And maybe that’s why the last book had such awful reviews. Murder is, after all, a dirty little thing. Some can stomach it. Others can’t. My answer to those reviews: find a woman to co-author with. To be the next pathetic character in my book. Pity she’s so pretty. Miranda Cross All I’ve ever wanted was to be successful as a writer so when I was offered the opportunity to co-author a book with my idol, EA Mercer, I jumped at the chance. He’s beautiful and a literary genius, but something about him makes my stomach knot. And maybe it’s my overactive imagination making my hairs stand on end when he walks up behind me. After all, these wicked little words we’re typing are only fiction. They’re only fiction...

BLOG TOUR: Beard Science (Winston Brothers, Book 3) by Penny Reid

Beard Science

by Penny Reid
Winston Brothers #3
Publication Date: October 11, 2016
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Humor, Romance

Make a deal with the devil and you might get what you want, but will it be what you need? Jennifer Sylvester wants one thing, and that one thing is NOT to be Tennessee’s reigning Banana Cake Queen. Ever the perpetual good girl and obedient daughter, Jennifer is buckling under the weight of her social media celebrity, her mother’s ambitions, and her father’s puritanical mandates. Jennifer is officially desperate. And desperate times call for Cletus Winston. Cletus Winston is a puzzle wrapped in a mystery covered in conundrum sauce, and now he’s in a pickle. Despite being convinced of his own omniscience, extortion by the exalted Banana Cake Queen of Green Valley has taken him completely by surprise. So… what’s a maniacal mastermind to do? Likely, the last thing you expect.

‘Beard Science’ is the third book in the Winston Brothers series, is a full-length romantic comedy novel, and can be read as a standalone.

This is everything I expected and so much more! And I lurve it!

Yes, this can standalone but I seriously don't know why you'd want to not read the first 2 books in this series. These Winston boys, I tell ya, GAH, I want to be Ashley, their sister, yes! They're all too adorable and lovable for words, GAH!

Anyhoot, this is about Cletus. Cletus is everything I expected and so much more! See, there's another reason why you can't skip books in this series. You need to build up to the experience of Cletus:p Right from the start, I doubt he won't catch your attention.

He's odd, he's sneaky, he's cunning, he's sweet, he's funny, he's quiet, he's smart, he's thoughtful, he's caring, he's sincere... He dances to his own beat and stays true to himself... He really is quite an enigma... Regardless, he makes me smile...

❝ I only had time for twenty-four people (tops) in my life, and I already had six siblings. Twenty-four people was an average of two birthdays a month. Ain't nobody got time or more than two birthday celebrations a month. That's a lot of cake, and I'm particular about my cake.❞
He has own version of wisdom, in a way that only he can pull (translation: Cletus-ism)
❝ Bullsh!it was the adult version of Santa Claus. For reasons I'll never comprehend, the general population seemed to enjoy wallowing, spouting, and believing in bullsh!t.❞
❝ Saying someone would make a great politician is like saying someone would make a great serial killer. It's not a compliment.❞
And my favorite:
❝ If you're after a life-long baking partner, avoid indiscriminate bakers. And if you take on a reformed, previously indiscriminate baker, make sure he's had his kitchen thoroughly inspected by the health department.❞
BAHAHAHAHA... Oh Cletus... GAH!

And to get a h like Jenn, there couldn't have been a more perfect pairing. I mean, they're the least likely pair but when it boils down to what really matters, they're just the right match.

Jenn is quite an interesting h herself. She's the kind of daughter born in a past era. Yet she isn't. She's just as odd and cunning as Cletus, and yes, just like him, she's just as sweet, funny, quiet, smart, thoughtful, caring, and sincere. She did her best to dance to her own beat and stay true to herself, with the help of Cletus.

Ultimately, the kind of love they have is authentic to the core.
❝ You'll discover what it's like to find the other part of yourself. You'll know it's her, only her, always her. Maybe not right away, but eventually, you'll know. She'll be your beginning, middle, and end. And your intentions won't matter. Love brings its own intentions, and all other plans, hopes, and dreams fade to insignificance in the face of love.❞
Happy sigh...

I've said it before, I'll say it again. FLOVE the Winston brothers!!!

About Penny Reid

SEX! It all started with sex, between my parents. Personally I don’t like thinking about it, but whatever works for you is a-ok with me. No judgment. The sex happened in California and much of my life also occurred in that state until I moved from the land of nuts (almonds), wine, silicon… boobs, and heavy traffic to the southeast US. Like most writers I like to write, but let’s get back to sex. Eventually I married and gave birth to 2 small people-children (boy-6, girl-4 as of this writing). By day I’m a biomedical researcher with focus on rare diseases. By night I’m a knitter, sewer, lino block carver, fabric printer, soap maker, and general crafter. By the wee hours of the morning or when I’m intoxicated I love to listen to the voices in my head and let them tell me stories. I hope you enjoy their stories.
