***NOTE: (Updated Mar 2018) Leaving the review not because of Santino but because of Megan. Also, I received an ARC for this so I am holding up my end of the bargain. This is no way a denial of those hurt by Santino and and I actually do want to give a shout out to all the brave souls who bared themselves and told their stories. May they find the healing they deserve.)

After a decade of serving in the Army, everyone still expects me to be Dominic 'Nicky' Costigan—the skirt-chasing player. They don't know I've been spending my days trying to figure out my post-military life. Including how to pick up guys.
When I meet Luke on a hookup app, he makes it clear it's for one-night only. That's fine with me, because I'm down to see what this silver fox can do. But after I arrive at his doorstep, it doesn't take long to realize we have serious chemistry, and we end up meeting again.
He's got more walls around his heart than a military base, but I think he's as addicted to me as I am to him. He can't resist me for long. I mean, who can? Except Luke's rules exist for a reason, and when I test his limits, things get complicated. Maybe too complicated.
Review
RATING:
The 2nd standalone book in the series, this is Dominic’s story with Luke. If you’ve read the 1st book like me, you’d have met Dominic briefly in the first one. While he was rough around the edges in the 1st book, there was enough there for me to see that he has a story to tell.
Dominic is back to civilian life and he is just lost. And while figuring out what he wants to do with his life, he’s also started to fully embrace his bisexualism to a point that he just wants to really explore that side of him. Enter Grindr… teehee… And enter Luke. Luke, who you can say has been around the block and was just looking for right-here-and-right-now only. But boy could that be any further from the truth when Dominic came into the picture.
They’re like the yin to each other’s yang. Where Luke was shielded, Dominic has no filter. Where Luke was settled, Dominic was still finding his way in the world. But like they know it, and I can clearly see it, they just fit… sigh…
Their story was just right, plain and simple! I love how Dominic was completely guileless. He had his insecurities, for sure, but he dealt with it honestly. His thoughts and actions were so adorable that I just want to put him in a bear hug. He’s hilarious. I love how he could take Luke’s snark and dole it back. Luke and his hang-ups were completely understandable and I felt his pain, so to speak.
Dominic and Luke together was perfection! Love their Grindr texts! (giggles) The humor is sharp. Their interactions have bite with an endearing quality to it. Their struggles felt real. The progression of their relationship made absolute sense. And the heat!!!! (plops dead)
The characters that support them were just as fleshed out, and I heart them just as much. Big bonus was definitely the appearance of Kai and Garrett!!!
I know I’m reading too much into things, but since I lurk quite often on social media, esp Twitter, and stalk, ahem, follow Megtino, I can’t help but see parts of their online personalities and interactions in Dominic and Luke’s interactions and thoughts at times. Don’t mind me, I’m sure it’s all just me. Regardless, for a fan like me, um, that’s only a good thing. I sincerely hope Megtino collaboration will keep going and going and going… A definite winner here, for sure!!!

Author Bio
Megan Erickson is a USA Today bestselling author of romance that sizzles. Her books have a touch of nerd, a dash of humor, and always have a happily ever after. A former journalist, she switched to fiction when she decided she likes writing her own endings better.
She lives in Pennsylvania with her very own nerdy husband and two kids. Although rather fun-sized, she’s been told she has a full-sized personality. When Megan isn’t writing, she’s either lounging with her two cats named after John Hughes characters or… thinking about writing.

Author Bio
Santino Hassell was raised by a conservative family, but he was anything but traditional. He grew up to be a smart-mouthed, school cutting grunge kid, then a transient twenty-something, and eventually transformed into an unlikely romance author.
Santino writes queer romance that is heavily influenced by the gritty, urban landscape of New York City, his belief that human relationships are complex and flawed, and his own life experiences.
