I knelt on the bed and straddled her body, holding her hands against the headboard. I had made a special request for this bed, I wanted something wooden, with slats on the headboard, carved and sanded, so the finish was smooth on all four sides. I knew she could handle the rubbing, but I didn’t want her skin cut or splintered.
“You’re not going to tie me up…”
I weaved the flannel around her wrists and secured the knots to the headboard. “I’m not?” The shirt was tight enough to prevent her from moving, but loose enough to allow circulation.
She glanced at my handiwork. “You warned me that you would do this…I never thought you really would.”
“Don’t ever doubt me, Frankie. I always keep my promises.”

Oh my, was that intense or what! And all thanks to Derek!! I tell ya, Derek is one intense smokin' hot piece of alpha! *g*
So Frankie was still reeling from that awkward situation she found herself in at the end of book 1, but Derek didn't really give her a chance to dwell on that. His 'pursuit' of her was relentless and all take-charge, whether he continues to believe it's just a one-time deal for him/both of them. Loved it! I don't think Frankie really stood a chance.
I like how Frankie is discovering things about herself when it comes to Derek without compromising her work self. And thanks to Derek's POV, I like seeing how his control slips every now and then because of Frankie. Their personalities are now really opening up, along with the story. Theirs and the people around them too, like Brea and Will...
It really feels like this was over in a blink of an eye. I guess that's how much I'm enjoying it. And you can tell, there's so much more to reveal abut Derek and his past, how that might affect the present and the future. I wonder how Frankie will handle all that as her thing with Derek spills over her work which I'm sensing it will, at some point. And with that cliffhanger, dang! You just won't be able to just walk away.
