Kai
There is nothing I care about.
No attachments.
No connections.
Outwardly, I’m a perfect gentleman.
Until my target sees my knife.
I fear nothing, not even death.
In my world, death is considered a privilege.
But my life comes with unbreakable cruel strings and
when I met her, I should’ve walked away.
I didn’t.
I was too selfish.
And that sealed her fate.
Because one week with me led her into the hands of ruin.
London
We all have unique layers that make up who we are.
What makes us vulnerable or strong.
What we fear and what excites us.
But peel back those layers and you’re left naked and exposed.
They did that to me.
Each piece was slowly stripped away then burned.
I merely existed.
But there was one layer they overlooked.
The most important of them all—the tie to one man.
The man responsible for me being this way.
The man who found me.
And the killer who would do anything to protect me.
Perfect Ruin is the dark erotic story of Kai and London.
Their beginning.
And the continuing story of Vault.
Must be read in order:
Perfect Chaos (Unyielding, #1) Deck and Georgie
Perfect Ruin (Unyielding, #2) Kai and London
Perfect Rage (Unyielding, #3) Connor’s story
RATING:
Soooo gooood!!! Omg,
KAI!!!
…Ummm;), I think Kai just topped the list of my Nashoda H’s…
I want to say, first of all, that if it’s been a while since
you last read Perfect Chaos like me, I suggest a quick refresher wouldn’t hurt.
I had to think hard about the circumstances that involved Kai and London and my take on
them back then. Also, if you’ve read Torn From You, that would be a bonus too
as you get a glimpse of them there as well. This is a stand alone but it would
help reading those 2 books. Not because you’ll be lost if you didn’t, but more
like it would enhance your reading because you’ll be seeing some things from
Kai’s perspective this time. They’re intriguing characters from the start. And
now I know why.
Kai and London met under most
unfortunate circumstances, with Kai threatening London ’s
father for something vital to the people Kai worked for and London seeing quite a scary side of Kai. For London , Kai is familiar even
when he wasn’t, and there was a reason for that. Unfortunate circumstances or
not, unbeknownst to them or not, their fates were sealed, so to speak, the
moment Kai laid eyes on London .
Because of their attraction, connection, whatever it is, to each other, things
went down a certain way, price had to be paid, terrible things happened.
This is not an easy read. I’m just really glad that Nashoda
decided to present things from Kai’s POV, especially during some dark moments,
because if I read it from London ’s
POV, I honestly don’t know how my stomach and heart could have taken things.
Ironically enough, London
wouldn’t have gone thru the things she went thru if not because of Kai. Yet,
there is no way I lay blame at Kai’s feet because ultimately, he himself was
dealt ugly cards. There was a lot of healing that needed to happen, on everyone’s
part. Then came redemption and salvation.
By the 6% mark, you can tell already what kind of man Kai
is. Indeed, he’s cold and calculating, yet underneath it all, what drives him at
that point only comes from a good place. He has an ugly brutal past and his present
would have been just as, had he not crossed paths with London . London
is a good person all-together, an excellent h. Heck, actually more than
excellent, to survive what she did, sigh…
For all of Kai’s brokenness, his feelings towards London leapt thru the
pages. I fell for his every thought, action and words, hook line and sinker. For
all the bad things he’s done, his past shaped the person he is, sigh… He’s one
scary dude, oh, but his thoughts on London
just shot right thru me, sigh…
Seriously, Kai, I can’t even fully describe how I feel about
him. Nashoda, without a doubt, is up there in my list of authors who pump out
alpha H that are BBF material. And Kai, like I already said earlier, he is
definitely up there. Gah, woman, I just totally heart you for that!
And if I may just go back again to the story to wind this
down, if you’re a fan of the series like I am, you’ll be happy to know that you’ll
get glimpses of some of Nashoda’s other MCs; and some with more prominence,
like Deck and Georgie. After all, their story had to continue where Connor is
concerned. There’s so much action happening, I think my heart was caught in my
throat from 65% onwards. And speaking of Connor, I don’t even want to guess the
road the Nashoda will pave for him. All I know is I would earnestly wait for
his story to come out.
